My children’s whining was incessant on our trek through the forest.
Ignoring the beauty of the path, they complained of fatigue, hunger, thirst, and boredom.
“Trust me,” I said. “It will be worth it.”
Having no choice, they continued forward with me until the forest opened onto the sight of a fantasy-like castle promising relief to all their discomfort.
Their awe rendered them speechless as they took in the end of this particular journey.
Maybe they would trust me a little more on the next one.
